ConnectGen has been retained to commence an executive search for a Lead RF Technician for DFW based two-way radio coverage provider, in terms of infrastructure, as well as being an Authorized Texas Motorola Dealer. This organization is well on their way of achieving their lofty goal of connecting 75,000 lives by the year 2031.
Opportunity at a Glance
The Lead RF Technician will be customer service focused with an ability to work as a team or independently positively and professionally. Under general supervision, this individual will be required to perform corrective maintenance on all electronic equipment; and will optimize, maintain, and repair 2-way and wireless communications systems as required. Additionally, he/she will provide technical assistance to Field Service team members and other personnel in the organization. Provide occasional field support when needed for all supported equipment. Perform parts sourcing and bench repair of service parts relating to the service shop.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $95,000 annually. When extending an offer of employment, the company will consider factors such as (but not limited to) the candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
Primary Objectives of the Role
Lead a small team of technicians with day-to-day operations, which primarily includes: Assigning duties and responsibilities; providing support and guidance; ensuring that all safety requirements are being followed by the team of technicians; and being involved in the hiring process for new technicians.
Be heavily involved with the implementation of additions and changes to processes and procedures, and be an integral part current changes in the organization.
Install, service, setup, program, and maintain fixed and mobile two-way radio equipment as well as infrastructure.
Diagnose and troubleshoot systems and equipment.
Perform on-site technical assistance as required and complete special projects in a timely manner.
Organize and maintain assigned tools, test equipment, and work areas.
Perform other duties as required.
Target Candidate Profile
5+ years of experience with Electronics, DC Low Voltage, RF hardware, and repair in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems theory. Able to use computer devices, programs, troubleshoot, perform diagnostics, and repair complex communication systems or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experience supporting and testing both components and systems.
Capable of operating on test equipment such as an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, multimeters, etc.
Knowledge and experience in the repair and maintenance of technical equipment.
Expert-level RF electronic assembly, test, debug, and repair.
Able to troubleshoot and repair to component level on all supported products.
Willingness to take initiative and assume responsibility for all supported parts and equipment.
Possess a positive attitude with high ethical standards.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, complete work orders, service orders, and other documents.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to interact professionally and courteously with customers, co-workers, and management.
Willing to work on job sites during various weather conditions.
Willing to take training classes to support work-related jobs.
Available for flexible hours and occasional overnight travel (15-20%).
Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a background check/drug screen.
